Dr. Aki Shirakura attended dental school in Buffalo, New York. He completed three additional intense years of full-time training in Prosthodontics at Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester. He then worked as an associate in a large well-known family practice in Hudson Valley and has been teaching dental prosthetics at Lutheran/NYU Medical Center in both Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Dr. Aki Shirakura participates in continuing education courses that focus on the latest advancements in dentistry and always offers the latest in current dental treatment.He is fully invested in the care and treatment of all of our patients.
His goal is to ensure a lifetime of healthy teeth for you and your family.
Dr. Matthew Glastein, DMD
Dr. Matthew Glastein, DMD is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania school of Dental Medicine. Dr Glastein received his his Masters of Science in Physiology from University of Cincinnati, as well as obtaining his Bachelors of Science in Biology from Lafayette College.
We are very excited to have him on the team. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, traveling and cycling.
Cinthya – Dental Assistant
Our Dental Assistant Cinthya and has been for the past 8 years. Her positive attitude and friendly personality helps keep our patients at ease and their visit light and fun.
Things we strive to keep associated with your dental visit. She’s been in dentistry for eight years graduating from The Westchester School for Dental Assistants, LLC. She continues to pursue her degree in Business Management at The College of Westchester.
Born in Lima, Peru, she speaks fluent Spanish and is a huge New York Rangers and Mets fan!
Miyuki – Business Administrator
Every dental practice needs someone at the helm to keep all the pieces moving forward. Miyuki is that person for us! As our Business Administrator, Miyuki makes sure the office is primed and ready to give our patients the best possible care and experience each and every time they visit us.
A graduate of Dokkyo University in Japan and Pace University here, Miyuki has been with Dr. Aki since our office opened its doors and is an integral part of our success.
She is an avid golfer and has two amazing children Douglas and Maya, both black belts in karate and one fur baby, Marron, a tenacious collie.
Joanne – Patient Coordinator
Joanne is our Patient Coordinator. Joanne has over 25 years of experience in dentistry services. From your first phone call, to your first visit, Joanne is dedicated to making sure your experience with us is nothing short of fantastic!
She has two beautiful daughters and enjoys racquetball, gardening and knitting.

Laura – Insurance Guru
Laura is our resident expert in all things! Most importantly she is our insurance guru. Laura will help you get the biggest bang for your buck and take care of everything so you don’t have too!
She has worked in the industry for 32 years.
When she’s not here taking care of our family, she is taking care of her own wonderful family, husband Andre, son Thomas, and her 2 fur babies, shelties, Piper and Lily.

Babette is just one of our two amazing hygienists! Babette comes to us with 18 years of dental experience. A graduate of Onondaga Community College, she loves to read and has a collection of over 2000 books!

EJ – Marketing Manager
The newest member of our team, EJ Flynn is our Marketing Manager. She brings to us over 25 years of business experience and expertise. Always striving to make people smile, EJ entered the dental industry after seeing how a full mouth make over transformed her best friend. “It was amazing the effect her smile had on her. To see her first wide open, toothy smile and the new confident person behind it was absolutely priceless.”
She is a proud mother of one amazing little girl, a published author and a huge sports fan. She is very excited to be joining the team and looks forward to meeting all of our patients.
Carlos – Technician
Carlos is our on-site dental technician. He has over 35 years of dental technician experience and has been with us since the practice opened. He attended the Dental Program at Federico Villarreal University in Lima, Peru and the New York City College of Technology Department of Restorative Dentistry in Brooklyn, NY.
Having Carlos on-site is an important part of how we give the care and attention we do for our patients.
